Recommendation: The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida

I often recommend this to my clients after their first session, to help them enrich and deepen their practice at home.I wanted to share with you a book I highly recommend – intended for men, but helpful for both men and women to read. This is one of few books that I could not put down until I finished it.  Every sentence was talking clearly to both my mind and my heart, and my head kept nodding Yes. I often recommend this to my clients after their first session, to help them enrich and deepen their practice at home.

The Way of the Superior Man: A Spiritual Guide to Mastering the Challenges of Women, Work, and Sexual Desire, by David Deida

David Deida explains eloquently and to the point what it means to be a real man. He powerfully presents the qualities that make him a great lover, a man who is strong enough to be a steadily grounding and attractive force for his woman so that she can let herself surrender to him completely.   By doing this, both achieve the highest level of connection and passion.

His real strength invites her to safely surrender to love. She finally can let go of control and avoid negative comments or goal oriented thoughts that usually disturb a ‘regular’ love making session.  The highest sexual peaks and real satisfaction are is achieved when both the man and the woman are present; he  in his healthy masculine and she in her own healthy feminine. What David Deida is describing is at the heart of Tantra.

The word superior does not mean better than others, but stronger, more loving and more present than the  ‘macho’ man who is rigid in his thinking and has little room for feeling.  He thinks that having feelings means being weak.  The ‘macho’ man maintains the illusion of strength by getting angry and/or closing himself into a very hard shell.

David Deida is very strong in describing the art of love and discussing strong sexuality within strong spirituality.  The Way of the Superior man is the most Tantric book I’ve read that does not mention the word Tantra;  however, it  includes most of its practical knowledge and wisdom.

I recommend this book to all men and to all women as an important part of growing from the adolescent making out to real lovemaking that fulfills and elevates.

I bought several of David’s book to give out to my clients who are intimidated by Tantra and want to reach a higher level of intimacy and passion.   Two of them go to my 2 sons.
