“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.” ~Carl Jung
As Carl Jung understood, and I have come to realize, there is great wisdom in embracing whatever comes our way. Yesterday, I was sad about something that happened to my son, and that I was not able to talk to my mother in Italy who needed some support. The phone lines were constantly busy for hours . . .
That was it. I felt the sadness of not being able to control what happens at times.
But if we can accept that reality, instead of fighting it, we open a space to see what is wonderful that is around us. Today, I woke up happy to be alive. I called Italy again, and when I connected with the voice of my mother, I felt twice as elated as I would have been yesterday.
So trust the universe to bring you what you need in the best time.
